Review of the W.E. Sullivan’s Pub Burger with Coleslaw
Review by Burger Bob
Points: 4 out of 5
Medium – with all toppings plus american cheese and coleslaw.
Presentation: The presentation, as shown in the pic was nearly perfect. The plate had one spec of what appeared to be a pepper grain on the side. The cheese was perfectly melted. The lettuce, tomato and onion were fresh and presented neatly on an open-face bun.
Main Course Taste: The burger was perfectly seasoned. The temperature was spot on the meat truly melted in my mouth.
Side taste: The cole slaw has too much mayonnaise and was a bit soggy.
Service: I had to ask and wait for a side of ketchup. Not great considering the burger is getting cold. But the service was otherwise professional, friendly and prompt.
Price: A $9 burger in central Illinois. A little pricy but fair for the local market.
Summary: I ended up spooning some of my cole slaw on top of the burger itself. I love a burger with cole slaw. The 1/2 pound patty was excellent. The bun tasted fresh and the toppings seamed to have been freshly prepared. There was nothing fancy about my plate – just a tasty all american burger (from an Irish joint). The delivery form order to table was prompt and the food was fresh. Aside from the cole slaw having a bit too much dressing, everything else was spot on. I’d give this a 4 out of 5 stars.
Other items: The pub features a nice selection of beer and a bar. Plus traditional Irish fare.
