Review of Double Wagyu + Brisket Blend Burger with substitute green style bun
Burger points 5 out of 5
Menu selection: Double Wagyu + Brisket Blend Burger, Homemade Candied Bacon-Tomato Jam, Truffle Aioli, Aged Swiss Cheese.
My order: I ordered it as-is but with a substitute of green style for the bun. Green style is a truly innovative way to enjoy a burger. Instead of a bun BurgerFi places the burger in a wrap of fresh lettuce. It’s incredible – the moisture from the lettuce makes the burger extra juicy. I actually prefer this over a traditional dry bun. In fact the green style at burgerfi is officially my second favorite bun-substitute after a fresh baked biscuit (funny the two choices could not be more different… oh really do miss my no carb diet days… anyway back to the review)
Taste: Awesome! What in the world is double wagyu you say? There’s an app for that – actually a website. Check out Wagyu.org for a great explanation
WAGYU – a Japanese beef cattle breed – derive from native Asian cattle. ‘WAGYU’ refers to all Japanese beef cattle, where ‘Wa’ means Japanese and ‘gyu’ means cow.
Okay so wagyu is basically just fancy imported beef – who cares so long as it tastes good… The beef blend with brisket had an excellent texture and was packed with flavor. Plus homemade candied bacon-tomato jam, truffle aioli and aged swiss cheese – what? If burgers were offered in Heaven I’m guessing this one would be on the menu. The candied bacon-tomato jam formed perfectly with the truffle aioli. The burger was the perfect size (could be bigger) for the green style that I ordered. Next time I’ll try it on the regular bun (burger fi buns are fresh btw).
Side: French fries – perfectly fried and seasoned.
Service: Burgerfi is a self-order joint. Service is friendly and prompt.
Location – take your pick. I went to the one in Habour Side Shoppes in Jupiter. They have locations popping up all over (that’s what happens when you have an awesome menu).
Recommendation: I am really sad that BurgerFi has discontinued their burger that included BBQ pork and coleslaw on it – If someone from upper management reads this – please bring it back! 5 out of 5 burger points.
