Goodness with Goodness.
About a year ago I was grilling burgers for my kids when I realized that I was completely out of burger buns. All we had were organic biscuits (the break and bake kind). So I baked them up!
To compensate for the smaller bread I made the burger patties slightly larger than a traditional slider. The art is in my secret seasoning for the patties which includes a blend of breadcrumbs, garlic powder and a few other ingredients. The result was incredible. The biscuit provides much more taste than a traditional bun. For best results serve the burger with a warm biscuit (right out of the oven if possible).
The Biscuit Burger combines a savory burger with a fresh baked biscuit. I top the burger with a blend of organic Mexican cheese and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. Add fresh greens (like baby spinach) and even coleslaw as an additional topping.
Eventually I made biscuit burgers for my in-laws. Everyone loved them! In fact, my father-in-law said he’d rather have the biscuit than the bun.
Biscuit Burgers can be grilled or cooked in a pan (using nonstick cooking spray, butter or olive oil). Size is key – don’t make them too fat – be sure to press down the burger patty as you are forming it. Ideally the burger should extend slightly from the biscuit.
Why is it so good?
For one – biscuit burgers are smaller than traditional burgers. Using an organic biscuit with simple ingredients is tastier than a processed bun from a bag.
Kids love them! With little ones at the table it’s important they like their food. Biscuit burgers are fun and tasty.
BiscuitBurger.com – yes I am a domain geek. I bought up BiscuitBurger.com almost immediately after inventing my biscuit burgers recipe. The thought has crossed my mind to open a Biscuit Burger restaurant – organic and simple fast-food burgers. Yum! We’ll see.
In the meantime, try one for your self. Good luck!
Need a good side: If you use a pan – add broccoli after the meat is brown. Splash in a little water for steam and cover. The juices from the meat, the oil and the steam make for a yummy broccoli side (don’t forget your seasoning).
